Dubbed “Byron Automation Skunk Works”, after the famed WWII Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Program, our R&D Service is a collection of Design, Engineering, and Fabricating. Located in a cordoned off section of our facility, “Skunk Works”, projects are typically hidden behind Non-Disclosure Agreements and shrouded in secrecy. The purpose is not to be clandestine for the sake of itself but because our R&D clients are typically funding a revolutionary new process or technology to which they are owed the market advantage the project will provide. Often times these projects are collaborations between Client, Byron and application engineers of our vendors. Are we designing missiles and jets to battle the Axis of Evil? No, but we are leveraging assets in a war on profit killing inefficiencies.
