Food Packing: Robotic Pick-and-Place for Snack Pouches

texture-green-1

Snack pouches don’t always arrive at the same position or orientation. A common challenge for food packaging automation.

‍

Byron Automation built a high-speed robotic pick-and-place system for Crunch Pak that uses machine vision to track incoming pouches, align them, and load them into trays.

‍

The robots respond to product as it moves through the line, allowing the packing process to accommodate variation without depending on a fixed pick position. The system reduces repetitive handling and helps Crunch Pak maintain consistent tray packing at production speed.

Highlights
  • Real-time machine vision tracks incoming snack pouches
  • Robotic picking and alignment accommodate changing pouch positions
  • High-speed pick-and-place loads pouches into trays
  • Automated packing reduces repetitive product handling
  • Vision and robotics work together to support consistent tray packing
